Trident Energy lets rig contract for work offshore Equatorial Guinea

Trident Energy has let a contract to Island Drilling Co. AS for use of the Island Innovator semi-submersible rig and associated services for drilling offshore Equatorial Guinea. Work is expected to begin in September/October 2023.

The work is for two firm and five optional wells and with a duration of about 250 days if all options are exercised, the service provider said in an early September release.

The rig is on contract with Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas Ltd. for the upcoming Gazania-1 well in Block 2B in Orange basin, offshore South Africa (OGJ Online, Mar. 3, 2022).
