Shell PLC has let a 3-year contract to Worley to provide engineering and procurement services for several of its assets in the Gulf of Mexico.

Shell PLC has let a 3-year contract to Worley to provide engineering and procurement services for several of its assets in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM).

Worley will provide engineering, procurement, project services, and support fabrication and construction. Shell currently operates eight offshore oil and gas developments across the Gulf of Mexico deepwater basin, and Worley will focus on five of these assets: Appomattox, Perdido, Stones, Auger, and Enchilada-Salsa.

The company will also aid Shell’s transition to a digitized and more efficient project delivery model for continued maintenance and improvements of its offshore assets, further reducing the carbon intensity of Shell’s GOM production.

The contract allows for further support of Shell’s Whale development as well, by delivering greenfield engineering and procurement services, and may lead to larger tendered scopes on Shell’s other deepwater assets.
