Repsol Sinopec extends field contracts for Flotta terminal

Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Ltd. executed new agreements to export produced oil from Golden Eagle, Piper, and Claymore fields to Repsol’s Flotta terminal in Scarpa Flow, Orkney, until end of field life in the 2030s.

All field owners have recently completed successful drilling programs to increase production volumes and are actively engaged with third parties that are considering use of the offshore infrastructure.

Repsol Sinopec and partners are also exploring development of a hydrogen hub on Flotta island. It would use a repurposed area of the existing terminal produce green hydrogen, powered by offshore wind projects in the seas to the west of Orkney.

Repsol Sinopec Resources UK is operator at Flotta (20.27%) with partners Repsol Sinopec North Sea Ltd. (36.67%), Transworld Petroleum (UK) Ltd. (23.5%), and Repsol Sinopec Alpha Ltd. (19.55%).

Piper field is in block 15/17n of the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), 193 km north-east of Aberdeen in the Central North Sea (CNS). The field contains 12 production wells and five injection wells. Repsol Sinopec Resources UK is operator at Piper with the same partners and percentages as Flotta.

Claymore field is in block 14/19n of the UKCS, 161 km north-east of Aberdeen. The field has 37 production wells and 21 injection wells. Repsol Sinopec Resources UK is operator (13.00%) with partners Repsol Sinopec North Sea Ltd. (36.67%), Transworld Petroleum (UK) Ltd. (17.70%), Repsol Sinopec Alpha Ltd. (13.73%), Reposl Sinopec Oil Trading Ltd. (11.38%), and Dana Petroleum (E&P) Ltd. (7.52%).

Golden Eagle field is in block 20/1N h in the Flotta Catchment Area around 70 miles north-east of Aberdeen. The nearby Peregrine field and Solitaire field also form part of the Golden Eagle area development.
