Jadestone Energy PLC, Singapore, has successfully completed the horizontal development well H-6 on Montara oil field in the Timor Sea. The well has been tied into the existing field facilities.
After clean-up, the well flowed at an initial rate of 10,000 b/d of oil, however after some performance testing it will be stabilized and put on stream at about 3,000 b/d.
The H-6 well confirmed the view that the field can provide near-term growth, Paul Blakely, Jadestone president and chief executive officer.
“The well not only delivers a significant increase in oil production but is also a key step in our plan to deliver around 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day towards the end of 2021,” he said.
The Valaris 107 jack up drilling rig has moved to the nearby Skua-10 and Skua-11 workover location. The program will begin with Skua-11.
