ExxonMobil Corp. has confirmed letting various turnkey and lease and operate contracts for the next phase of the Liza project offshore Guyana. Based on one of these contracts, SBM Offshore will construct, install, lease, and operate a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel. ExxonMobil recently completed the front-end engineering studies and the final investment decision on the project (OGJ Online, June 16, 2017).
Liza field lies on the Stabroek block, which covers nearly 27,000 sq km about 200 km offshore Guyana.
The FPSO is designed to produce as much as 120,000 b/d of oil and will have associated gas treatment capacity of 170 MMcfd and water injection capacity of 200,000 b/d.
The converted very large crude carrier FPSO will be spread moored in 1,525 m of water and will be able to store 1.6 million bbl of crude.
Esso Exploration & Production Guyana Ltd. is the operator and holds 45% interest in the Stabroek block. Hess Guyana Exploration Ltd. holds 30% interest, and CNOOC Nexen Petroleum Guyana Ltd. holds 25% interest.
