Saudi Aramco has let a contract to SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., Montreal, to provide engineering and project management services for its Berri Increment Program (BIP), a project that will add installations at Aramco’s existing plants at Abu Ali and Khursaniyah to process potentially increased output of Arabian Light crude from Berri field on Saudi Arabia’s eastern coast.
SNC-Lavalin’s scope of work includes front-end engineering design for a 250,000-b/d gas-oil separation plant at the Abu Ali gas plant, as well as additional installations at the Khursaniyah gas plant designed to process 40,000 b/d of condensate, all associated with the Berri Crude Increment (BCI) project, SNC-Lavalin said.
Contract terms additionally allow Aramco an option to use SNC-Lavalin for delivery of technical support services during the construction phase, the service provider said.
With FEED now under way, SNC-Lavalin said it expects preliminary engineering, procurement, and construction-stage services to be completed by August 2018.
Aramco has yet to reveal further details regarding either the BIP or BCI projects.
