Shell Offshore Inc. has let a front-end engineering and design contract for the Vito platform in the Gulf of Mexico to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. of Dallas.
Shell Offshore Inc. has let a front-end engineering and design contract for the Vito platform in the Gulf of Mexico to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. of Dallas.
Terms call for Jacobs to provide detailed engineering for the Vito host platform topsides. Vito is being developed in more than 4,000 ft of water on Mississippi Canyon Block 984 about 170 miles south-southeast of New Orleans (OGJ Online, July 30, 2009).
The Vito platform initially will handle production from Vito field with potential for future tiebacks from other fields, Jacobs said.
