Eni Norge AS has entered into a framework agreement with DNV GL for inspection services for the Goliat platform in the Norwegian Barents Sea.
The contract is for a 3-year term, with an option for a 2-year extension, consisting of planning and carrying out inspections of static equipment, load-bearing structures, and offloading and anchoring systems aboard the Goliat floating production, storage, and offloading unit during its operational life (OGJ Online, Mar. 26, 2009).
Goliat’s estimated reserves are 174 million bbl of oil and 8 billion standard cu m of gas. It’s the first field to be developed in the Norwegian Barents Sea (OGJ Online, July 1, 2009).
Eni Norge is operator of Goliat, with 65% interest; Statoil ASA holds the remainder.
