He is a registered professional engineer, has worked in the electrical industry for over 30 years and holds a total of 12 Patents for various types of electrical equipment and components. Rod chairs the Board of Directors for Whitewater Valley REMC, is a NAFI Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and is a member of the Electrical Section of NFPA. He serves as a principal on the National Electrical Code (NEC) CMP-8. Rod is also a principal Technical Committee member for NFPA 70E - the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, and chairs the Technical Committee for NFPA 70B - Recommended Practices for Electrical Equipment Maintenance.
