Condor Energies has entered into a contract with the Uzbekistan government to increase production and overall recovery rates from a cluster of conventional natural gas-condensate fields in the country.

Condor Energies Inc., Calgary, has entered into a production enhancement contract with the Uzbekistan government to increase the production and overall recovery rates from an integrated cluster of eight conventional natural gas-condensate fields in the Gazli region for use in the domestic market.

Condor, through a local subsidiary, will conduct production enhancement services under an agreement with national company JSC Uzbekneftegaz (UNG). The agreement makes Condor UNG’s first Western strategic operating partner to contribute to increasing Uzbekistan’s natural gas production rates and recoverable reserves, the company said in a release.

Condor will be responsible for all costs of the project in exchange for an unspecified percentage of net revenues realized.

The fields consist of stacked carbonate and clastic reservoirs that are geologically similar to those in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin.

To increase production, Condor plans to implement artificial lift, workover, and infill drilling programs and investigate deeper horizons that are productive in other regions of the country. Seismic reprocessing and a 3-D seismic program are also planned.

Operations are expected to begin in this year’s first quarter following an environmental baseline audit and technical inspections.
