US crude oil production during July fell just 0.2% vs. the June average to 8.685 million b/d, according to the US Energy Information Administration’s Monthly Crude Oil and Natural Gas Production Report. The July US average was down 7.8% year-over-year.
The federal offshore Gulf of Mexico segment rose 1% in July vs. June to 1.562 million b/d, down 0.3% compared with the July 2015 average. North Dakota output increased 0.4% month-over-month to 1.028 million b/d, down 14.4% year-over-year.
Oil production in California recorded a monthly rise of 4.1% to 512,000 b/d, down 5.9% year-over-year. Colorado output jumped 3.8% month-over-month to 320,000 b/d, down 8.1% year-over-year.
Texas oil output ticked downward month-over-month by 0.3% to 3.161 million b/d, a year-over-year decline of 8.4%. In Alaska, crude production dropped 6.8% month-over-month and 2.6% year-over-year to 438,000 b/d.
US natural gas production declined 0.5% in July compared with its June average to 87.408 bcfd, a 1.8% decrease from the July 2015 average. In Texas, output shrunk 1.9% month-over-month and 9.2% year-over-year to 22.063 bcfd. Pennsylvania output fell 1.3% month-over-month to 14.31 bcfd, which is up 10.4% year-over-year.
West Virginia recorded a monthly increase of 12.5% in July to 3.909 bcfd, up 5.3% year-over-year.
