Saudi Aramco Total Refinery & Petrochemicals Co. (Satorp) has let a contract to Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Pasadena, Calif., to provide general engineering services for a series of projects at its 400,000 b/d full-conversion refinery complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia (OGJ Online, Sept. 15, 2011).
As part of the 2-year contract, Jacobs will deliver a range of feasibility studies, concept design, and detailed engineering-design services for a portfolio of minor capital expenditure projects at Satorp's Jubail Industrial City II installations, the service provider said.
Jacobs did not disclose details regarding a value of the contract or the specific projects to be included within its scope of work.
A joint venture of Saudi Aramco 62.5% and Total SA 37.5%, Satorp currently is executing an ongoing 10% capacity creeping project at the Jubail refinery, which has operated at full-design capacity since August 2014 (OGJ Online, Sept. 26, 2013; Apr. 25, 2013), Total said in recent publication to investors.
Configured to process Arabian Heavy crude oil into low-sulfur gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, the refinery also is integrated with petrochemical units to produce 700,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene, 200,000 tpy of propylene, and 140,000 tpy of benzene.
