BPTT lets contract for Juniper project off Trinidad and Tobago
BP Trinidad & Tobago LLC (BPTT) has let an engineering, procurement, installation, and construction (EPIC) contract to Technip SA for development of the Juniper natural gas project off the southeast coast of Trinidad and Tobago. The contract total ranges €250-500 million.
Technip says the scope of work consists of design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, load out, and mechanical completion of 4,300-short-ton topsides that can process 590 MMscfd of gas, as well as a 6,100-short-ton jacket.
The contract also covers design, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, transport, installation, and precommissioning of five 10-in. and 8-in. ID flexible flowlines; 26-in. OD, 10-km concrete coated rigid subsea pipeline; an extensive diving campaign to support clients LNG train and field turnaround; and a large number of subsea structures and tie-in spools.
Technip will be responsible for the transport and installation of client supplied umbilicals, trees, and flying leads. Technip’s operating center in Houston will perform the overall design, engineering, and project management. Offshore installation is scheduled for second-half 2016.
Platform fabrication will be performed in Trinidad and Tobago using a local fabricator, and flexible pipes will be manufactured at Technip’s Flexi France facility in Le Trait. Technip’s S-Lay pipelay vessel, the G-1200, will install the rigid pipelines.
Additional vessels from Technip’s fleet will install the flexibles as well as umbilicals, and provide construction work support.
BP PLC last month gave approval for BPTT to proceed with the project, which is estimated to hold 1.2 tcf of gas (OGJ Online, Aug. 14, 2014).
