Tesoro Corp. expects to complete the expansion of its refinery at Mandan, ND, by the end of June, according to Greg Goff, president and chief executive officer.
The company is boosting crude capacity to 68,000 b/d from 58,000 b/d in response to growing oil production from the Bakken shale and other formations in the Williston basin (OGJ Online, Mar. 21, 2011).
Goff mentioned the refinery expansion in an announcement about the successful conclusion of negotiations over labor contracts covering six of its refineries with the United Steelworkers.
