Osum Oil Sands Corp. has applied to Alberta’s Energy Resources Conservation Board for approval to build and operate its Taiga oil sands production project near Bonnyville in the Cold Lake region.
The company plans to use steam-assisted gravity drainage and cyclic steam stimulation to develop reserves in two phases with production capacities of 17,500 b/d of bitumen each.
Osum applied for environmental permits in 2010 (OGJ Online, Jan. 25, 2010).
