HOUSTON, May 7 -- G. Steven Farris has been named CEO, president, and chief operating officer of Apache Corp., Houston. Farris's position change is effective May 29. Apache founder Raymond Plank, meanwhile, was reelected Apache chairman and will continue to be active in management of the company.
Farris has served as Apache's president and chief operating officer since 1994. He joined Apache in June 1988 as vice-president, domestic exploration and production, and was promoted to senior vice-president in 1991.
Before joining Apache, Farris served as vice-president and treasurer of Terra Resources Inc. Before working for Terra, Farris was executive vice-president of Robert W. Berry Inc.
